The Moth is Devin Townsend’s most ambitious work to date, a project that has existed in his mind as his life’s work – an immersive orchestral, choral, and theatrical project over a decade in the making.
Unlike his previous genre-hopping worlds, The Moth was conceived from the ground up as a fully orchestrated narrative.
Townsend spent years relearning musical fundamentals to write the score himself: harmony, counterpoint, and orchestration rebuilt from scratch, expertly assisted by Joseph Stevenson.
The result is a meticulously crafted, emotionally driven piece where every instrument and voice has space to speak.
Recorded across more than ten countries, the album brings together an extraordinary global cast: the aforementioned North Netherlands Orchestra and Choir, long-time collaborators Darby Todd,
Mike Keneally, James Leach, and guests including Steve Vai, Anneke Van Giersbergen & Lynn Wu (Ou). Hundreds of musicians, engineers, mixers and artists contributed to the project’s massive creative ecosystem.
At its core, The Moth is about transformation. Through its soaring arrangements and intimate moments, the work explores self-acceptance, surrender, and the courage to face discomfort without turning away.
The Moth is about the journey—but it is also about arrival.

When will I receive my order?
Delivery time depends on your shipping address and chosen postal service. Australian orders typically arrive within 5 days, while international orders take 14-28 days. You'll receive a notification with tracking details (if applicable) once your order ships.
Please note that during high-demand periods or when postal services experience unexpected delays, orders may take longer to arrive. These delays are beyond our control, and we cannot guarantee specific delivery timeframes.
Vinyl orders may require 3-5 business days for dispatch from our warehouse.
I purchased a pre-order item, when will I receive it?
Pre-order products will not ship from our warehouse until the release date specified on the product page.
If you've purchased a pre-order item along with other products, your entire order will ship only when all products are available. We cannot split orders or ship items separately.
I ordered the wrong size or item, can I exchange my product?
We do not offer exchanges for change of mind or incorrectly purchased items.
Instead, we can cancel your order and issue a refund. You would then need to repurchase the item you're after, if it's still in stock or available.
Will I be charged bank fees if buying from outside of Australia?
